REFUTAL / DISCLAIMER
RE: COMMUNIQUÉ ALLEGEDLY ISSUED AFTER THE APC ISIALA MBANO LGA LEADERS’ AND STAKEHOLDERS’ MEETING HELD IN OWERRI ON 19TH MAY, 2026
The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Isiala Mbano LGA Chapter, under the chairmanship of Sir Cyracus Obichendu (Onyeoma CY), has observed with concern certain misleading publications and social media reports circulating in relation to a purported stakeholders’ meeting allegedly held in Owerri, Imo State, on Tuesday, 19th May, 2026, shortly after the concluded Okigwe North primary election.
For the avoidance of doubt and in the interest of clarity, the leadership of APC Isiala Mbano hereby states as follows:
1. That the said meeting was convened solely at the instance of the Member representing Okigwe North Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Miriam Onuoha.
2. That the meeting was neither organized nor officially convened by the APC Isiala Mbano LGA leadership.
3. That Rt. Hon. Miriam Onuoha informed attendees that the gathering was primarily intended as an appreciation and thank-you meeting for party members and supporters for their continued loyalty and support.
4. That part of the purpose of the meeting was also to notify party faithful of the demise and burial arrangements of two committed APC members:
– Late Dr. Pope Enweghi of Eziama; and
– Late Nze Evarestus Akwaiwu of Obollo.
5. That any interpretation, resolution, agreement, or position attributed to the meeting outside the aforementioned purposes did not receive the approval, endorsement, or authorization of the APC Isiala Mbano leadership.
6. That the position and decisions of the party leadership remain supreme in all party matters within the LGA, and any individual acting contrary to the established leadership structure does so at his or her own risk.
The APC Isiala Mbano remains committed to unity, discipline, peace, and the collective progress of our great party.
